Holiday House
« on: September 26, 2012, 04:21:38 am »
When my family left last Tuesday after being here for so long caring for my nephew, I was feeling bereft, cried all morning.

Later in the afternoon, I had a call to say that the previous owners of our holiday home in Albany had moved out and it was now all ours! Takeover was on July 31st, but owners rented for a while, so it was like having a present and being unable to own it. I cheered up considerably and headed down on Friday for a glorious three days, sans DH, unfortunately as he was too busy.

It was such a wonderful time, the house is beautiful. We bought some of their furniture and they left heaps of stuff, so I could just move in! Here's a few photos:

It looks lovely MJ. Do you have ocean views? Are you on the side of a hill?

The garden looks quite tropical MJ, you are going to have some lovely times there.  How often will you have time to go for a break?

JD, I would love to live there! Albany is on the coast and our house is in Lower King, near the river. It's quite cool, but they've created an amazing garden. Each morning I saw two little blue wrens hopping around.

Hopefully I can go down every fortnight for a couple of days. We're having our family Christmas there and spending most of January there, too. DD is looking at getting married on the lawn as there's quite a bit down from the house.
