Hello from the UK
« on: September 30, 2012, 01:36:33 pm »
Hello one and all

I am Helen, and I live in Hampshire in the UK.

I bought my thermomix 5 days ago, without evening having a demo (I'd watched lots of YouTube videos and felt I knew what to do and had seen its capabilities!).

Haven't looked back since - I'm loving it, and have made bread rolls, soup, risotto (and reheated it in the Varoma), smoothies, chili con carne and onion jam so far!

This forum is great, have been browsing all the yummy recipes.

Helen x

Welcome again Helen, it's nice to have another member from the UK.  The machine seems to have taken off a lot more in Australia than it has in the UK but we have some very dear members in your country who contribute to our forum.

As far as recipes go, you will never be short of something to cook once you have joined our forum.  Help yourself to the recipes and if you can possibly spare the time to write a review each time you make something, it would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, I'd never heard of the Thermomix, but came across it mentioned in another article on the internet.  A Google Search and lots of YouTube videos later I decided I had to have one - I can be very impulsive!!  The stupid thing is that I'm not even much of a domestic goddess and I don't have kids or anything, but to be honest the Thermomix makes it all so easy I keep having the urge to cook something else in it!

Welcome Helen. It certainly sounds as though you have caught thermomixitis like all the rest of us.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

The really hilarious thing is that I'm on a very low calorie diet at the moment, so not actually eating any "real" food - so my boyfriend is being fed all this Thermomix stuff - he's not sure what's come over me!

I have my "break week" from my diet next week, so will get to taste some of the fruits of my thermomix labours then!

Welcome Helen!

Perhaps you can try and convert some of your diet recipes for us all?

This worries me somewhat, but I think it's preferable that I'm putting food in my mouth where I know all the ingredients instead of store bought where you don't know half of what the ingredients are!

Have fun, I'm sure your BF is enjoying it!
