Hi there!

My name is Rachel and I am fairly new to the Thermomix. My mother-in-law has one and has had it for quite a few years, my sister also has one and has had hers for about a year now. My brother-in-law is heading overseas for about a year and has been kind enough to leave his Thermomix with me
I have wanted one for so long but being a single mother of 2 it's hard to come up with such a large amount of money(I am aware there are other options but they don't suit me at the moment either).
So I have only had the Thermomix for a week and I haven't even used it yet (I know, it's a crime!) but I haven't had the time to sit down and look at the recipe books yet. I am a meal planner and I usually plan a fortnight at a time so I will need to have a good look around for ideas on here.
Hope to get some great ideas from you all

Welcome Rachel, once you start you won't be able to stop, just make some custard for the kids, I love the fact that you don't have to stand at the stove and stir...

Hi Rachel and welcome to the forum.
A great 'no recipe' recipe you can try for the kids is banana ice cream. Just chop up some ripe bananas (2-3) and stick in the freezer until they are frozen solid. Throw them into the thermomix and blend on about speed 8 for 20-30 seconds until you get something that looks like soft serve ice cream. It is delicious and tastes just like ice cream. I sprinkle a bit of milo on the top and the kids think it is the best dessert!

Hi Rachel, welcome to the forum. I daresay you have seen your relatives using their machine so would have some idea what you are doing. Maybe your Mum and sister could tell you what their favourite recipes are and you could start there - are they members of this forum?
The kids might like
- it's ike those packet pastasand you can add some chicken to it as well as serving it as a side to a main meal.

Yes I have seen the machines in action before and used them myself as well, so I have a fair idea of what I am doing
It's funny you should suggest a carbonara, we actually just finished eating it for dinner (just regular stove top made carbonara though).
Umm I don't think either of them are members here, I have told my sister about it though and suggested she join up too but she is very busy at the moment with a new baby

Did your BIL also send you to this website? Try and use it as much as possible while you have the opportunity. It will save you a lot of money and you will become spoilt for the taste of good food. We are always here if you have any questions.
