Dodgy forum posts....
«
on:

I've noticed there have been a few dodgy posts lately. I've just been clicking the "report to moderator" button, but is there anything else that we can do to get rid of them?
I was also wondering if it is possible for viruses to get into my computer just by going into a thread that a scammer has posted on this forum.
Thanks,
Amy.

Reporting them to the moderator is the first step, then post on the thread that you have done this so that we know that has happened and don't all send messages to the moderator/s.
So long as you have got good virus / security protection on your computer I shouldn't image that you could get a virus from one of these posts, but I don't know enough about it to say that that is definitely true. I am sure someone else can answer that for you.

Oh... whoops, I didn't think to post that I had reported them. Sorry moderators
I have something called Trend Micro Security... but I don't know much about computers or anything either
Thanks Marina

Thanks Amy & Marina, I was cooking whilst this spamming was happening but onto it now. Nothing anyone can do apart from report it as Marina has said. Moderators can remove the threads but only MM can remove the poster permanently which sometimes takes a bit of time due to the time difference. MM has assured us it is no threat to our computers.

Yes Maddy is right, just ignore the spammers messages (if you can understand them
), never click on their link.

It is always a member who has just been approved Robyn, they somehow slip through the checking system and as soon as MM is notified, they are removed never to return.
