I am a new Thermomixer and after a few 'disasters' tried this Morrocan Lamb and it was a delicious hit with the whole family - thank you!

My question is, would it be okay to double the recipe so it serves more? I have two teenagers in my house who were looking for more?

Have a read of all the comments in this thread SusieHomemaker & you will see a discussion on this very question. Thermomixer came up with a way and Faffa70 successfully did 1.5 times the recipe for her large family. This is a very popular recipe on the forum.

Just to help - my idea



You could probably get double in, but it may pay not to put the chickpeas in until all other ingredients are in, and then add some if there is plenty of room.  If you put them in the Varoma if they don't fit and mix it all together and leave for 10 minutes for the flavours to blend.

Alternatively - cook 2 lots the day before, but slightly undercook it and then reheat in the oven in a casserole?  The flavours will improve overnight.

Ok made this for DH's birthday tonight (it is one of his favourites at the moment) . I made 1 1/2 times the recipe (as and DS number 1 is away)  though I did use two 420g tins of chickpeas (I couldn't be bothered with open tins in the fridge and they are good for you!!) It all just fit in the bowl so think even with the "normal" amount of chick peas you might struggle to get double in - so if you try double definitely leave the chick peas until last!

Reviving an old thread here.......but soooo worth it!

Made this tonight.  So quick and no-fuss, and tasty! DH and I gave it a big thumbs up and I can see I am going tobe doing variations on this theme regularly.

Made this (with beef) on the weekend, and it was divine.  Will try it with chicken next time, and put a dollop of greek yoghurt and drizzle some pomegranate molasses over the top...   ;D

Another one for my recipe file - thanks Sandra.  One little thing though, did you mean chicken or lamb ??? ???  It is called chicken but contains lamb - maybe either??

I make it with chicken and it is YUM!!

Made this tonight. Very easy and tasty.  I used forequater chops from which I removed the fat and bone from--in my opinion tasted quite "lamby", would probably prefer leg or backstrap, myself, but still a nice, easy dish. Have the MOTM cookbook, but have never cooked anything from it, then was led to this recipe by CP's legendary list!

I made this last week and didn't get around to reviewing it. This recipe is delicious. I used a cut of roast lamb - trimmed and cubed it all. I also doubled the recipe as I ended up with double the meat. This will definitely be included as a regular in our household. I cooked it the day before we had it and thought I was going to have to heat it in the slowcooker for the meat to tenderise - to my surprise it was tender and didn't need to. Next time I think I will cut down on the dates and honey as it was almost too sweet. Thanks for a great recipe. ;)
