Apple and Raspberry Paste
« on: November 10, 2012, 01:19:31 am »
I found this recipe on the fabulous blog:  TickOfYum   who are also forum members!

I dont want to post the recipe itself, because it isnt mine, but this is a wonderful paste, like quince paste, serve with cheese, or however you would use quince paste.  You really must try it!  Just dont lick the paste when it has finished cooking - it is scorching hot, as my tongue found out  :P

TickOfYum - if you read this post - thank you for this recipe - and you should post it here on the forum too :-* :-*

Karen, glad to see you drawing attention to this recipe.  I have made similar pastes from all sorts of fruits.  If you follow the basic instructions as set out by Thermomixer in his Quince Paste recipe  you can use what ever fruit is available.

A hint, also from Thermomixer I think, is that if your TMX starts "walking" put it in the sink and it won't go anywhere.

Thanks for bumping this Karen.  I do make Quince and plum paste but this will make a great addition.  I vacume them and put them into the freezer and they last forever!!!

i made myself a baby one so it would cool down faster to have for a snack, i really liked it but i dont have anything to compare with

the big tray was still soft after about 4   hours and very sticky to cut, in the fridge now, will check later and see  if easier to cut once in the fridge
