Great, I have always wondered if any one would light up a $100 for fun. Not just now, but have thought about this for years..
So good Mandi

Day 3 done, still doing it easy ;! My friend caved in and had one cigarette last night, but nothing since. Everyone else is going well too
I'm looking forward to achieving 1 week smoke free.

You will do it too dede, because of your strength of mind is overpowering the addiction. I'm so proud of you. What are your kids saying?

When my DH gave up (c. 25 years ago), he just stopped one day. He said he always knew he would stop, and had been smoking since he was 11 or 12 but had not thought about just when he would stop, then when someone said to him one day "... I don't see why we should put up with your smoke all the time", that just 'clicked' with him, he stopped there and then and told no-one, including me! He had no withdrawals at all. He used to smoke roll your owns and he said later the hardest part was remembering that he had stopped - he kept going to his tobacco tin to roll another one (he didn't want another one, it was simply ingrained habit), so, you see, not everyone goes through terrible withdrawal, and it looks like you are another one of the lucky ones.

Congratulations Dede! I stopped smoking 35 years ago. I can remember thinking when I gave up that I didn't want to be forever thinking about when I was going to have my next cigarette. Wanted to be free of the habit. Hardest thing was when doing things that you normally do with a cigarette like having a coffee or a wine or going out. So glad to be free of it. Hate it that my son smokes
he's 32 and I don't let him smoke in front of me because I hate to see him smoking. He will give up one day I hope.
