We just returned yesterday from 2 days in Singapore followed by 6 nights in Phuket!

Loved Singapore and wold go back in a heartbeat.  Did the Singapore flyer and then walked over to gardens by the bay on our first day. Gardens by the bay (the two huge domes) and what is in them is one of the most magnificent things I've ever seen.

Second day was universal studios with the kids.

I loved the food. The cleanliness, the cheap taxis! Can't wait to explore more one day.

Have a fantastic time!

We are finally here! Hotel mucked up our booking. We booked in Feb and now they are saying that they are full tonight and we will have to share a bed tonight then change rooms in the morning Grrrrrrrr.
Anyway I really shouldn't complain as I could be at home dealing with all the day to day stuff!
Food on he flight was lovely, stir fry chicken and rice, lovely salad with a balsamic dressing. Weiss bar for dessert! All washed down with a bottle of bubbles.
Off to find some dinner and then an early night so we can shop tomorrow morning.  We have a tour booked for the afternoon - lots of photo opportunities  :)  :)

At least you are there and your holiday has started Moptop.  Sounds like it is going to be a bit of a squeeze tonight but if it's your husband there with you and not a girlfriend, hey what's to complain about  ;D  Have fun.

Mop top where are you staying? Who did you fly with?

I love looking at the flyer but you would never get me on it. Too high by a long way.

We haven't seen Gardens by the Bay yet. That will be on next year's list. I've looked at it on the net. I just love looking at everything. The orchid house in the botanic gardens is one of my favourite spots. DD bought me an orchid that had been dipped in gold as a pendant a few years ago. It is so beautiful.

Hi Moptop hope you had a wonderful first day in Singapore.
So many new sights, sounds and smells.
Botanic gardens beautiful, bird park, zoo and night safari all beautiful and different.
Clarke Quay, satay club and Lau Pa Sat all great hawker food experiencs  as is Newton Food centre.
Shopping  in Orchard Road, Vivo City, Raffles Centre, Somerset , Bugis Junction & markets at Bugis & Chinatown  all really good. And lots more others too.
Dinner cruise in the Harbour, dinner on the Singapore Flyer or just eating local style all fun.
Spoiled for choice with food.
Hope you have a great time and look forward to your trip on the forum   ;D

Have a great time in Singapore Moptop.  Can't wait to hear about Gardens by the Bay as they opened just a week after we were there earlier this year.  What a shame we are going home via Malaysia as we could have met up if it had been Singapore.  Enjoy your time there.

Well, after a fantastic holiday I'm back. Out of 5 of us that went away only 2 had decent phone and Internet connection - I wasn't one of them :'( I can't tell you how frustrating it was.  But, I took lots of photos to share with you so over the next few days I will show you Singapore.  We really did have an amazing holiday with lots of laughs, incredible food, and fantastic experiences.  DS20 (special needs) coped quite well without me but hasn't left my side since I got home.  I think he thinks I might go away again. The most we have been apart is a couple of days so 8 days must have felt like a lifetime for him. I must admit the break was truly wonderful and I am feeling very refreshed with a new lease of life.  My husband was happy to have me home as well - going to work doesn't seem so bad any more!
Anyway, I have lots to catch up on on the forum so will leave it here and talk to you all on the threads.  A very big thank you for all of your good wishes for my holiday. Maybe we can have a Thermofest in Singapore one day  ???

Welcome home Moptop, it sounds as if you really needed a break to recharge your batteries.  I can understand how your son and DH are so glad to have you back and look forward to your pictures in due course.
