Karen I love all those places you mentioned. I'm so glad I was there last year. I will be very green with jealousy.

I go for Hahndorf, everything is in the one street so once there we could all just wander around doing our own thing until meeting up for lunch somewhere and getting the bus to take us anywhere that is too far to walk at some stage.

I tend to agree with Judy - the Barossa is wonderful, but everything is far more spread around, and it would definitely be a case of "on the bus" then "off the bus" then "on the bus again".   In Hahndorf you can wander up and down the one main street for ages, and there is a mixture of food, clothing, craft, gifts, antiques etc etc ......A bus up to Hahndorf could easily call into the big Haighs factory/store on Greenhill Rd on the way too ......

It is only a small walk to Otto's bakery and then a tiny bus trip to Beerenberg.

We are probably going to be having a pretty decent dinner on Saturday night so maybe we could just pick something up in the bakery for a light lunch if we do go to Hahndorf.

Which goodie from Ottos cookie? It is 35 degrees here.  I'm in the pool just back from lunch at the boating club. DH   just brought me a glass of bubbles .

You sound as though you are having a lovely cool down. It's about 34 here.
I like Ottos's vanilla slice.

Sadly I am able to be with you all - there is a mandated course which I am required to attend Aug 15 and 16 in Cairns.  While I had applied for LSL for this period, a requirement of being able to deliver the course is that the school trainer (which is moi!!!) attends moderation at the regional level (in February) and the state training. In previous years the mandated training has always been in the last week of August  :'(
