Another new by here too. I am slowly getting used to the way of TMX cooking but like you still have to go and shop for essentials.
No delivery demo here either - so was all by trial and error. Have fun playing.

Sounds like your going to have fun
The EDC is a great starting point, gives you ideas on time speed & temp.
Bechamel sauce for lasagna is a good start, easy & quick.
Marble Cake is nice.
Custard, great
Foccacia bread, is really easy & I make it lots
Rissotto of course
There are some good recipes in there, especially to start with.
Enjoy

Thank you all - so many lovely people at different stages of their thermo journey but all loving it by looks
Yep, I'm in love
Depending on what I'm making and cost and time involved, I'm happy trying EDC or forum or a combination
I haven't got to make much because of ingredient lack
but my shopping list for today is much longer
Nothing else after the custard last night, but porridge (EDC but tweaked) and banana milkshake (totally made up) this morning
When I try a recipe from EDC, do I just add any cmments to an existing review thread or start a new one?
Tank you all
Lemon butter on the agenda next

I think you would add to the existing review thread, that way all the reviews for the recipe are in the one place.
I didn't use my EDC at all for a start as I had only heard bad things about it, but now I use it as I can read the reviews here first!
Hope you continue to have success.

You've obviously seen all the different books
listed
so just go into the book you are using and see if there is a review already. Add yours to that thread but if there is no review of a recipe you have tried, just click on 'new topic' and start a new one. It can then be added to the list by a moderator. Looking forward to reading about all the things that are now going to come out of your Thermomix.

Just on the EDC topic, I get the impression that SOME of the recipes have been amended in the current version compared with older editions.
Mmm, I want a banana milkshake now...of to experiment. Can't go too far wrong with that I hope...
I spent quite a bit on my first couple of shops after receiving my TMX - lots of spices, especially. But now it has settled down and I believe I am starting to see some savings. We have a local indian spice shop, and that was GREAT for the spices at a cheap price (and look better too - my supermarket cinnamon sticks look totally different)

Hi Lozzy and welcome to the forum, we love the strog in the EDC but I make it with a kilo of chicken thighs and no mushies
Anzac biscuits are also good from the EDC and the fast chicken curry I use 1 kilo of chicken thighs also and no veggies except potato

Welcome Lozzy
The EDC has enough in it to get you started. I have a few books, not many, but I find this forum the most valuable place for a recipe that has been tried, tested, altered - you name it, these girls have done it and if they haven't, yell steer you in the right direction to find it.

I agree with all the comments I have had many successes with EDC recipes but always peek at the forum first just to see if there are some tweaks that are recommended. There is always someone to help with questions as you go along.

That definitely seems to be working for me so far - EDC recipe after checking here for tweaks, or recipes straight from here (thanks for the bread roll link, my first time ever making bread and it worked!)
EDC play dough is super easy and lively texture by the way

Well Lozzie, how is it going, after having mine for 18 months I still love it and use it everyday, I wonder how I did without it, make so much from scratch, even condensed milk yesterday.
