Password Security Issues
«
on:
December 13, 2012, 11:15:43 am »
Hi All,
Just to inform you that one member had her email account hacked into and her forum account was deleted.
For safe measures, so that this does not happen to you in the future, please make sure that your forum password is different to your email password.
Also, it is better that you do not keep your passwords in your email account. You should keep them on your PC, or on paper or phone app
Thanks

I have also noticed that some members have their private email address shown publicly in their profiles. Perhaps it would be a good idea to have it set on private.

Good thinking maddy.
You can hide your emails in your account settings (Account Related Settings). Just tick the box "Hide email address from public?"
Don't worry if you see your email in your account area. As it's your account, you will always see your email visible, but others won't be able to see it.

Me either Judy. In fact I had a look at my profile and I don't even know how to change my password. Perhaps I should have a closer look.

Just go into Account Related Settings Cookie, change your name then click on 'change profile' at the bottom.
Don't change your name though Cookie, we love that name.

Oh technology, my new iPhone 5 was activated this morning and only lasted 3 hours before the screen went black, it had stripes coming up on the screen right from the start now have to trudge all the way to the apple store on Sunday (first appointment I could get) to get it replaced or fixed.
