Hello from berrimbillah

I am not yet a Thermomix owner but it is on my wish list and someone is going to show me the ropes after Christmas. I am 66 but I hope an old dog can learn new tricks. Last year both my husband and myself were diagnosed with cancer, he at the beginning of the year and me in December. During the past 18 months we have seen more of hospitals and Dr's surgeries than we would have liked but praise God we are now both doing well and I want to keep it that way. I am hoping with a Thermomix we will be able to have a fresh and healthy whole food diet to maximise our health. We have 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren, one of whom is a very difficult eater. As she spends quite a bit of time with us I hope we can influence her diet for the better as well. I am really looking forward to getting to know members of this site and sharing recipes and tips for preparation.
I hope all you who have a TMx have a wonderful and stress free cook-up at Christmas.
Best wishes, berrimbillah (Joy).

Welcome Joy. I thought there was another person whose name was similar to yours on the forum. Welcome, we hope you find lots f recipes here that you will enjoy. There is always someone here for you, and we have lots of very helpful friends virtually 24/7 who can help you along and help you get the most out of your TM. For some of us we thought we were buying a kitchen appliance, but that was only the beginning.

Welcome to the forum!
I was first introduced to TMX by a family friend who had had to dramatically change her diet for health reasons, and it made a huge difference to her. I'm sure you will find lots of lovely recipe ideas here and elsewhere.
All the best for continued good health for you both!

Hi Joy and welcome to the forum. Old dogs certainly can learn new tricks, there are many of us over 60 on this forum - we can't let the young ones have all the fun
We also have several people who have had cancer problems as well so you will find this forum a great outlet for chatting and sharing knowledge about food or any other matter. Once you have been shown what the Thermomix can do and how quickly it does it, you will be hooked for sure and you will be able to make almost anything from scratch as a lot of us do here. Check out our recipes, check out the spices and sauce sections and you will see what I mean. I never thought I would be making my own tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, chilli sauce, spice mixes. People even make their own milo and I have just put a recipe in drinks for homemade Nesquik. You will love what this machine can do for you and I wish you all the best with the health of you and your DH.

Welcome! You will find that TMX reignites passion for cooking and food. In my case, TMX has turned me into a cook and has cut down my use of packet everything. My diet used to consist of 50% takeouts and 25% microwave meals, but now it's 100% homecooked food with the occasional restaurant meal :-)
