Cauliflower pickle
« on: June 18, 2009, 03:33:45 am »
Does anyone have a tried and true TMX recipe for cauliflower pickle please? I am being lazy and asking before I convert my CWA book recipe. Thanks
I love chutneys but DH prefers this.

Not tried and true cookie1, but I did make some - don't have the recipe on hand, but think that it was based on CWA or similar.

From memory:  Chopped up the cauli into bite sized pieces and placed in Varoma tray, then made the vinegar solution and boiled it up while steaming the cauli pieces.  Then bottled.

Thanks Thermomixer, that's more or less what I thought I'd do. I feel better now that someone has verified it.
How's the little thermomixlet? Blooming I guess as little ones do.

Grannie gets almost daily reports.  Not having reared children I'm not sure about what he should be doing at each week/month, but we got a phone call when he rolled over.  Apparently everything he does is before the expected time.  I asked if he was playing the piano this week??  I'll have him out to work by the end of next month if he is as advanced as they say.  Then I can retire !!

Is cauliflower pickle what we call Piccalilli here in the UK  ??? Anyway, have a look at this recipe from the UK site and see how it compares.
