'Walking' machine?

I've just made the dough for my first batch of rolls. I was very wary of leaving the machine alone as it 'walked' along the bench with the power of the kneading. I tried putting it on a tray but that was worse. I tried a slip mat but that just bunched up while it 'walked'. Does this happen with everyone else's Thermies too, or is mine 'special' ?

It does, RW - mine even tries to turn around . . .
I don't leave mine when it's kneading . . other suggestions have been to put it in the sink . . but I prefer just to keep an eye on it. It's only for a few minutes at most . .

Thanks Goldfish. Putting it in the sink sounds like a recipe for disaster in my house. (Boys!) My mind is now at rest.
It reminded me of a toddler trying to do the hokey pokey...

Or put it on the floor - then it can't walk off the edge of anything while you are not watching it!!

Gosh yours was feeling energetic RW, I've never had it walk too much, change direction a bit but not walk. A non-slip mat under mine works wonders, it doesn't move at all. I still never go off and leave it on it's own though.

I'm a bit the same as JD doesn't move much but never leave it, if it is moving I just put my hands on it and hold it steady.
