E-magazines free from your library
« on: January 19, 2013, 06:21:26 am »
Don't know if this has been mentioned on here before,
I found out during the week, I have downloaded an app for my ipad called Zinio. Or you can download to your computer, iphone, or tablet. There are 97 e-mags to choose from, better homes and gardens, taste, the o mag to name a few,
You just need to login into your library's web site all the info should be there use your library card number, create an account and then start reading. I am pretty sure this is Australian wide, the good thing is they are the current issue and there is no expiry date, yours to keep for ever and free.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Usually through your local council website, there is a link for the library. You might need to get in contact with you local library to organize a  password. Not sure if you can do that online.

Thanks Jen. Perhaps my local library doesn't link with the app.

Thanks Jen. I'm a member of the Albany Library and I receive emails from them, but they haven't mentioned the e-mags.

Will check it out now.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Great thing with the emags is if you see a recipe or article you want to keep or read later you just capture in a screen shot.

I logged into my library and went to esources and it only had 7 newspaper articles. I will enquire next time I'm at the library.  :)

I have checked and I don't think my library does it for magazines. Did your local library site say e magazines Jen? Mine only says ebooks and audio books. Could be my dumb computer skills too
