Dodging the wildlife
« on: January 25, 2013, 11:45:44 pm »
We had a great run from Perth to Geraldton.

Geraldton to Kalbarri was a different story. Darkness brings out all the wildlife.

We narrowly missed a roo which happily hopped across our path, luckly dh was driving at approx 80 so we managed to slow down & swerve. A fox ran under our wheels I was waiting for the "noise" but luckliy he got away.

We saw 1 cat, 3 foxes & 5 roos, plus a load of idiot drivers driving at 110 or more.

Today is a big day here on the foreshore. Looking forward to cp joining in the games, the band playing & the fireworks :)

Happy Australia Day :)

H :)

Gert, never eating roo again ;)

Nice to hear you arrived safely Hally - driving at night is pretty hairy in the Australian outback.

Glad you arrived safely Hally :)

Our long drives in WA can be quite dangerous, especially at certain times of the day. Have to be careful ;)

Have fun Hally :)

We saw a dead cow on the side of the road once, it was really hot so it had blown up like a big cow balloon :-X

We saw lots of dead echidnas and kangaroos when we drove from south Australia to WA. There was even a dead camel by the side of the road - so glad we didn't hit that!

Hally it is best not to drive at night if you can help it. Do you have a roo bar on the car?
Enjoy the celebrations. I hope it isn't too hot and the sea breeze comes in early for you.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

My friend hit a cow once and it was awful. Not only was her car wrote off but the poor cow didn't die on impact and the poor policeman had to shoot it because the poor thing was in a lot of agony. Totally horrible.
