Introduce yourself
« on: January 28, 2013, 02:41:17 am »
Hello to all who read this. I am a fellow from Washington state who loves to cook. For as long as I can recall I have loved to cook. My brother jokes that it was a matter of survival since our mom was a college geek who would rather read a book than cook. So we both cooked. But I loved it. I worked at a bakery in Poulsbo Washington when I was in high school and that just made it worse! Although I confess I'd rather cook then bake since cooking seems to have more flex to the process.
Last year I got my Poly Science Pro for sous vide and my dream of getting a Thermomix is just about to come true. Just waiting for it to get here! I have made a file of over 34 recipes and counting. Can hardly wait!
One of my greatest joys is to make something that pleases people. Turning out something that a fine restaurant would be able to serve. The sous vide has allowed that and I believe the TMX will allow it as well. My wife likes to bake and I like to cook. We just ordered our new 14' dining table and we are going to fill it with good friends, good times and GOOD food! Come on over, let's get cooking!

Greetings to everyone here.

Brian

Hi Brian, welcome to the forum and thanks for your generous invitation - if only we could.  We can chat though and talk about what we are all cooking and that's the next best thing isn't it.  I am so going to enjoy hearing what you and your DW get up to with your Thermomix - hanging out for some new recipes from your part of the world so I do hope you will share all your recipes with us.  Thanks for joining us, you sound as if you are going to be a fun forum member.

Hello Brian and welcome to the forum. I am more allied with your wife as I love to bake more than cook. However I enjoy cooking too.
A 14' table will take quite a few people, so you will need to lots of cooking and baking.
How long until your thermomix arrives?  You sound as though you have made a good start with 34 recipes chosen already.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
