Wonder I haven't heard of these but we have a small one an Indian friend made us years ago using a stainless steel garbage bin as the outside with the clay & insulation inside. It works very well and food from it tastes so much better. Yes the clay has cracked a little but that doesn't make any difference. Would be good for you to be able to try some food cooked in it before you get one. Perhaps they might have a cooking class that you could book into. Goodluck!!

Thanks Yvette and Trudy. I'm just waiting on the distributors to give me a call to get some extra information. I will keep everyone posted.

OK so I've decided to go for. I spoke to the company owner today and the answers to all my questions were positive,I also managed to have an email exchange with someone I found through a blog entry who has one and she was also impressed.
Delivery will probably be this weekend but I'm sure it will take us a while to get the hang of it. Will keep you all updated
We are buying the middle of the bigger model.

We have a lot of decking and it's on castors so we should be able to fit it without any problems. It only needs to be undercover while cooking or cooling.

How exciting for you, I was going to ask how is it heated but I just had a read of the link and it uses heat beads, it will be very interesting hearing how you go and what you cook.

I'll start saving.. I need to, my grocery bill was $254 this morning. Admittedly I did need meat.

It looks very interesting. I've never seen one but I do remember watching food safari and they did an Indian episode and it may have been cooked in an older version of one of those.
Will be interested to see how it goes.
