Maybe not me after all as the flight I was thinking about is not now listed and I would have to be at the airport by 5 PM to catch any other and that may be too early. I do not want to break up the party.
I really can't stay two nights . Bugger! I can wait a while to see if any other flights pop up but seems no direct flights to Cairns and the curfew at Brisbane comes in to play. It is a pain sometimes living in the far north of nowhere.
Well check in July so hold my space!

Even worse cookie. I have checked all the airlines and would have to be at the airport by 4pm. Why is it so hard to go the Melbourne? I could stay another night I guess but DH does not do so well on his own these days. He says go but I will be going to Adelaide on the Thurs anyway. What to do??

Gert, bring DH. Get a Vet nurse to look after the dogs. You CAN'T back out now. Boo Hoo

Double checked all flights all airlines and no way I can get to Melbourne for less than two nights and possibly putting people out so will have to say no at this stage. If things change then I will let you know as soon as possible. Thank you to all those who tried to help . You know who you are and I appreciate it. Will see some of you in Adelaide.
DH says just do it but it i hard to justify the expense and time away . As the suggestion of taking DH well he would love to meet you all and especially chookie and her DH . As to the dogs on is literally on last legs, all but blind and deaf as. He would be hard to leave and harder for someone else to look after as he is also incontinent at times . Last night I let Elvis out at 0130 and he could not find his way back to the house. I had to run around the back yard stark naked in the moonlight trying to find him. Not a pretty sight. I tell you it perked certain bits though as it was about 18 degrees. I eventually found poor ole Elvis trying to get into a glass wall. Poor puppy. He was probably attracted to that wall as my "ring"of death" security and bright LED night light for the Thermothingy was shining through.
Cheers to all.

Sorry to hear things have turned upside down Gretchen, it is never easy when you have to consider dogs and husbands. We hope something happens to change the situation but if not, we will raise our glasses to your effort to join us
Poor Elvis and lucky there were no prowlers around last night - boy they would have got the shock of their lives if they ran into you

Funny you should say that. My house backs on to a creek. There is a fence. There were some solar lights along the fence. We had a spate of solar light thievery. One night two rather dark skinned boys were seen by me climbing over my fence at about 0200. I leapt out of bed turned the bright spotlight on. This light Is aimed at the spot the two boys were in. As I ran through the door I scooped up the pooper scooper come toad wacker and gave chase. The boys scurried over the fence, lightless leaving their potato bag and flashlight behind. Win for me as it was new one with good batteries.
I suspect these two boys have never seen a fat white lady raging at them with a weapon in her hands.
I am sure I have told the story about picking up beer bottles by the pool and finding my male neighbour in my pool beer bottle in hand and both of us stark naked. Neither of us ever mentioned it.
