Having been a cynic, I'm now a convert!
« on: March 10, 2013, 02:39:31 pm »
Hey guys

I've spent the last 3 or so years being cynical about the thermomix...thinking, okay granted, it's a clever machine, but a very expensive clever machine that I wouldn't really use...and that it took away from 'real cooking'...cynical, hey?

Well...things have changed.  I have a little more time on my hands (my son's at PP now) and my concerns about the processed foods have heightened...and I realise that the thermomix will only help my cooking, not stifle it...so...here I am.

Thermomix ordered last week...booked in for my first cooking class in mid march...special ingredients ordered and now just waiting...waiting...waiting...for it to arrive!

Looking forward to joining you in what seems to be an amazing forum.

Cheers.

Monnie

Hello and welcome you certainly have come to the right place full of fun,  recipes and lots of support.  The wait is excruciating but once it arrives you'll be off cooking all sorts of things xxx

Welcome to the forums Monnie!

I think we were all a little cynical at first. The machine sure speaks for itself though.
I bet you are dying to get your hands on it at this stage.

Good luck with it all.

Hi Monnie - and a very warm welcome!  I have a friend who said initially, "absolutely not" . . .a few months later became vaguely intrigued (is that a contradiction in terms??) when my DD showed her and her husband how easy it was to make jam - of all things . . . . . .move on a few months - and they now have a TMX in their kitchen! (also they were becoming aware of the additives in the various bought foodstuffs - and now, like me, wouldn't be without it.  You'll love it!

Have a look at CreamPuff63's List of Favourites for ideas on everything!!

Good luck!   . . looking forward to hearing more from you soon! :D

Hi Monnie, being cynical is usually the way we all feel about the Thermomix when we first hear of it and it's hefty price tag but you know it is worth every cent once you have it sitting on your kitchen bench being used so many times a day. You will end up making things you never dreamt of making eg condensed milk, Worcestershire sauce to name a couple.  Enjoy your machine, your first cooking class and join in the fun we have here on the forum. If you want to know anything, please ask.

Hi monnie and welcome to the forum :)
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Welcome Monnie. I hated waiting for my machine so I know exactly how you feel.
Spend your waiting time planning a couple of meals.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
