Le snack style cheese dip for lunchbox?
« on: March 25, 2013, 11:45:14 pm »
I was shopping with DD yesterday and she begged me to buy those horrible le snack things - you know the pack with a cream cheese sort of dip and crackers? I refused (she's only had them from Grandma, I don't buy that kind of thing), but I'd love to recreate the same kind of dip for her. Any recipe suggestions? I'm guessing cream cheese +????

I do cream cheese with cheese and a little milk to make it the right consistency (I do it quite soft for my dip-crazy kids).
It's been a long time since I had le snak type stuff, but I also remember it being quite salty, so it's not really the same flavour, but the kids thought it was good enough.  ;)

PT - have you tried the cheese dip in the lunchbox booklet (I think that book) ?  My kids like that, tho they have probably never had le-snacks!!  :)

Astarra, I don't have that booklet...

Jo, do you heat it so the cheeses melt together?

Nice one Brenda. Very appropriate!  :D

No, I don't heat it, just mix (on about sp 4) until smooth, but I do mix the cheese quite a bit before adding cream cheese rather than just grate it, as I got little lumps the first try.
