I am considering this book but also considering baby led weaning so would like to hear some reviews before making a decision.

Like....how likely I am to use the recipes suggested.....are they easy to make....do the kids like them?

I'm very interested in this book - apparently it's based on another one of Louise Fulton Keats' book, but this one is adapted for the thermomix. I'm going to reserve it at the library and see what I think before I buy this one. DS is going from 3 days of kinder/childcare to 1 day in a few weeks now that I'm not working, and at home all he normally eats is sandwiches for lunch, so I need all the help I can get.

tasty I would save your money and do the baby led weaning much easier not having to cook separately from what you are having I think that there are plenty of recipes on here that are great for doing BLS none of my kids did purees etc

Thanks Suzanne. You reminded me to order the babyled weaning cookbook and it's only $14 from book depository. I agree it is easier when they eat what you eat, which is usually the case with my 20 month old.

Tasty, I'm another advocate of baby led weaning - I did it with my 2nd child, and loved it.  TMX would certainly make the whole puree thing easy, but I really enjoyed just having my little one join in the family meals.  The Baby Led Weaning book has some great info, especially if like me you have extended family who don't get the idea and think they will choke etc.
My BLW baby was (and still is) a lot better at managing her own foods and I never had any gagging/choking worries - unlike with my first who I did the mashed food with.

I have to say though - some of the family meals and lunchbox foods in this list sound good and would be a hit in this house!

We tried BLW with miss3 but she had (we found out later) sensory issues especially in her mouth and HAD to have purees, she actually started refusing to eat after a few days, apparently she just couldn't handle the texture so decided it was easier to not eat at all. As you can imagine the whole food thing was a big stress, she was going to speech pathologists etc at 7mths of age (she was also losing weight as she refused even her milk - anything in her mouth was a big no-no. :'( ).  Even now the texture of something makes a huge difference to what she eats - or even touches. (Hates touching anything like cotton wool, shaving cream, finger paint etc) But she doesn't have purees now either!!!  :) We do still have to give her a variety of textures to broaden her sensory awareness even now.
But miss2 had whatever we were eating from the day she started solids!

Still like the sound of the book, and am waiting (very impatiently) for it to be delivered!!
I love recipe books, and some of these recipes do sound delicious!!  :D

We did baby led weaning with our son and are not there yet with our second (still cooking!)

It does sound like there are some nice snack and family meal ideas in the book though.

There is one hazard of baby led weaning though, which rarely gets mentioned...your kids will very very quickly start eating all the good stuff. Nobody else has a chance at olives, smoked salmon, gooey cheeses etc while Mr 2 is around :(
