Help! Won't turn on after water incident
« on: May 21, 2013, 07:24:24 pm »
Help help help! I filled my Thermomix jug with water then put it into the machine - then realised the base wasn't on. In the few seconds it took me to realise this, water gushed out of the jug, and must have entered the unit, which now will not turn on. I immediately dried it the best I could with paper towel, and have switched it off.
My problem is that my Thermomix was bought in Australia but I live in the UK, so I can't call a consultant or send it for repairs (as far as I know. I haven't actually contacted Thermomix UK but I don't foresee that they could help me as I didn't buy it through them).
Can anyone advice me on what I could do to help it recover? Feeling just awful.

Ah thanks for linking to those threads. They've actually calmed me down quite a bit. I've got it on its back now and am about to put it in front of a dehydrator. Should I leave it there for about 48 hours?

ViT in one post sabimby left it for 48 hours

"we've drowned ours twice!! both times we unplugged it, left it on the bench where it was (recommended by our consultant not to move it at all), and didn't use it for at least 48 hours. came back to life no worries, but they sure were tense 48 hours..."

I hope everything dries out and it starts working again.
BTW Welcome to the forum from a fellow UK member. ;D

This is something that most of us do - probably only once though as we soon learn to check that everything is in the right place.  Just be patient VIT and everything should be OK.  You're lucky to have CC in your part of the world to come to your aid and give you all the information you need, good luck and welcome to the forum.
