Egg Yolks
« on: July 11, 2009, 07:18:14 am »
I have just made the giant meringues from the britishlarder site and wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to use up 10 egg yolks?  The meringues turned out great, so now I might have to make some caramel and whip up some cream, crumble some of the meringue and make a nifty dessert.  ;D :)

There were 5 egg yolks in that sabayon that George cooked in the TMX on Master Chef last night.  Recipe is on their website if you are interested.

Well I ended up making some custard for ice cream putting it into ice cubes and then made some mango ice cream. Turned out bloody lovely.  Thanks for your tips everyone. Sandy

Thanks for asking the question - may be something else for Tenina to look at - what to do with ... leftover.

Poor Tenina, we give her so many suggestions she will be tearing her hair out or looking for heaps of helpers. Great idea though.

Missing you all desperately, but with 40º at the moment, work, kids off school and beach every afternoon!!!!! I don't seem to get much time to get on here! Missing you all  :-* :-* :-* :-* and hope the summer passes quickly so I can get back on!
PS. Am on a diet too....have lost 4 kilos, but another 6 to go! So just seem to be eating lots of veg and fish in the varoma, and cold cucumber and yoghurt soups and gazpacho (of course!) and NO ice-cream!! What a shame! :( :( :( :(

As long as you are enjoying yourself with the family Bron, we will let you off this time - we can't be greedy, must share you with your family. Good luck with the weight loss. :-* :-* :-*

Thanks guys! Am at work at the moment, and have a quick quiet half hour, as I am covering reception ATM as a colleague is ill, so have a chance to browse and catch up! ;) ;)
