Hello everyone
We are going to buy a gas BBQ as we have no cooker at present, too hot for Aga and it will be very useful when we knock out the kitchen wall!
Going for 4 burners plus side hob.
Do we need one with a rotisserie, currently great offer on one but is more £.
Experiences please to help us decide. Thanks v much.
I need to order in next few hours to be sure of delivery in time.
Many thanks

Have a rotisserie , but have never used it. More important to have a cover./ hood and thermometer. Others may use theirs . !!!!!

Agree with ACW... Rotisserie used maybe once in 4 years... Also if u do decide to go rotisserie, check out the batteries, some are so weak they can barely turn a chook
Hope this helps

I agree with everyone's comments as we have seldom used ours and would never buy a barbecue with a rotisserie again.
I have one in my oven and rarely use that.. Up to you DJ but in my opinion not worth the extra money .

Thanks everyone for your invaluable help.
Ordered this
http://www.flamingbarbecues.co.uk/4-Burner/BillyOh-Phoenix-Stainless-Steel-4-Burner-Gas-BBQ-with-Side-Burner
Arrives Thursday with all our gear.
Just had 2 hr siesta after starting at 4.30 am today.
Starting again now, will do the same again tomorrow but have final dentist mid morning.
Can we please now start BBQ cooking suggestions of larger pieces of meat etc as will be using as an oven.
The bbqing is no problem but tips as to how to use the hood etc would be very helpful.
Think will have to find Gerts chook recipe....
Family coming on Saturday and we won't even be unpacked!

It looks good DJ. Does the BBQ come with a cook book or is that an additional option. Weber have a huge, proper cookbook for their BBQ's so I daresay there is one available for yours as well. It should come with some sort of cookbook even if it's only a small one. Essential if you are going to be cooking everything in it.

I have a Weber Gas BBQ. You can certainly learn a lot from their web site . You will see VDOs as well. Lots of web sites for cooking. It is important to learn how to cook indirectly when roasting and not to lift the lid when grilling . The Beer ass chicken is a very easy way to start.

Good luck with it . It will give you years of fun and great food. I never cook roasts in my oven. A meat thermometer is handy to have. Love baked potatoes on the BBQ.

Ours looks just like your DJ. Ours is on natural gas as we had a bayonet put outside when we built the house.
Happy barbecue ing.

You will soon get the hang of it DJ. We use ours like an oven and roast always on it. We have a terrific thermometer that scewers the meat and then has a secon piece that you set for how cooked you want and what sort of meat which you keep inside. It rings an alarm when almost done and again when at temp. We do our pizzas on it with the hood down also.
