Crack in front panel
« on: July 29, 2013, 05:32:10 am »
Hi Forum,

In the last few weeks I've noticed a small crack growing on the front panel of my TMX, near the VORWERK logo right above the LED screen, on the plastic facing (hopefully the picture attached properly to show exactly whats happening).
Mr Google hasn't afforded me any answers nor has a search on this forum (I gets loads of info about cracked eggs, having a crack at something, and crackers LOL).
Nothing traumatic has happened to my machine to my knowledge (I'm the only one who uses it in my house)
Before I contact me consultant, I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience?
Thanks in anticipation.

I've not heard or seen this before curry diva but it is still under warranty and the casing should be replaced free of charge.  I would contact your consultant or send the photo and an email to HO in Perth.

Yes, that happened to a customer of mine.  She just took a photo of the problem, sent it to me, I did the report and it was replaced under warranty.  The only difficulty was having to go without her TMX for a couple of days while it was couriered to and fro.

Snappy, whether or not your TMX is still under warranty, it's quite possible to see if that can be fixed.  If you don't have a current consultant, you can just go onto the http://www.thermomix.com.au website and complete the CONTACT US form to explain the problem - or write direct to service@thermomix.com.au to enquire.  Good luck.  I hope Katya's was sorted too.

Woah Snappy, that's major - how long for, did it grow slowly? Yes I hope it gets fixed for you. Thanks all for the informative replies - I'll be chasing up soon with my lovely consultant. Just wanted a bit of background to the issue beforehand  - much appreciated.

Thanks Cecilia.  I've emailed thermomix.  Hopefully they will fix as it is only 18 months old and it is clearly a known fault.

I have that crack too! I noticed it about 6 months ago & seeing as it hasn't affected anything I didn't worry.
Should I?

The thermomix service department called me straight away and said it was covered by the warranty.  The courier is coming tomorrow to pick it up.

The crack isn't affecting anything yet but I certainly don't want it to get worse.

Great to hear your positive experience of the warranty, Snappy.  Get onto your consultant and get it sorted, BlueWren.  It is hard to be without your Thermomix even for a single day but you will be proud to get the problem solved.  :)

Cecelia, thermomix have been great.  I'm really not looking forward to being without it but I do want it fixed!  Hopefully it won't take too long and it will be back with me 😉

Ok I can tell you exactly how this happened (I Think!)  It happened on mine a while ago and was caused by either child or elderly mother (neither ever owned up!) lifting the jug when very full and heavy and not realising how heavy it was, then knocking the bottom edge of the jug on the plastic panel! I hope that might help solve the mystery.
Cook with all your heart and then friends and family will not be far away
