600 mls. thickened cream
250 mls milk
3/4 cup raw caster sugar.
good splash of Vanilla
100 mls of Liquorice Liqueur
a generous handfull of soft eating Liquorice cut into 1 cm slices.

Measure all ingredients into TMX bowl .EXCEPT SLICED LIQUORICE,   and mix, speed 5 for 30 seconds.
Tip into Ice Cream machine and process until nearly set.
Add sliced Liquorice and churn for a further minute.

Notes
This mix will not set hard because of the Liqueur
Can add liquid Chocolate after sliced liquorice and then have "Chocolate Bullet "

debbiebillg - Chookie, this recipe most definitely has the tick of yum from my DH and me.  Absolutely lovely and such a nice consistency. I made it with Black Sambuca. Do you think you could substitute with Baileys, Kahlua etc ? These flavours would be great for xmas day ! Thank you for the recipe.

Chookie's reply - Deb,  I use home made Baileys and it is lovely.  My favorite is the Rum and Raisin so I think you could sub whatever you like,  but I would keep the ratio the same.  Glad you liked the liquorice.

Oh Chookie thank you for this. I have written it on my whiteboard so that I don't forget to make it when I get home.

I'm not an icecream eater but DH loves liquorice and ice cream so might need to give this a try. Donna Hay has a recipe for liquorice in her latest magazine if anyone is interested in making their own.

Looks good.  There's a restaurant we go to that serves liquorice ice cream but it is a greyish black colour and I can never bring myself to eat it.    I think this one could tempt me  ;D ;D

Thank you Chookie .......... I think I might just have to experiment before Christmas ......... what a shame that we'll have to sample all these different ice creams. The rum and raisin sounds good too. mmmmmmm

Deb,  good fun making and sampling.  Because I have lots of freezer space I have had 8 different favors until recently.   Some for the kids and some for the adults.

Do you think I could burn the alcohol out before adding to the ice cream? My father won't have anything with alcohol and DD boyfriend can't drive with any alcohol  in his system but DH would really like this.

Wonder i bought some liquorice root extract with this icecream in mind. Perhaps it would be the solution for you.
