Apparently they have mixed the batches of good and bad up as I know more than a few people whose replacements have gone the same way. I need a new one too.

Must still be a faulty batch as ours only 2 weeks old has developed cracks which I  noticed yesterday, have sent a photo to HO but will contact our consultant for a replacement.

A wise thing to do. I hope you hear back quickly.

I've just had my replacement MC replaced as its splintering along with my varoma lid having cracks in it.  Contacted my consultant who put in a service report and a MC was sent direct to me within a week, there are no varoma lids in stock so this on back order.  HQ has said that its a fault they can't correct immediately. As mentioned previously in the post it doesn't affect the cooking at all its just annoying to happen so soon after getting the TM.

Well I'm onto my third MC now after the replacement going the same way. My consultant put a request in to HQ & I received it within a few day, so great service.

It came with the following message from HQ:

Vorwerk has advised that recent circumstances of cracks in Thermomix measuring cups (MC) is due to internal stress generated in the material (styrene acrylonitrile or SAN) during the manufacturing process. This can later lead to cracks where the MC is used for cooking at high temperatures. Vorwerk is currently providing a replacement MC made from food safe polycarbonate that has never reported incidents of cracking.

Fingers cross I now have one from the good batch.

I am up to MC 4 and waiting for varoma lid 3. I'm not distressed. I like the clear glossy mc's when they arrive and the only one that shattered was the one that I left in the bowl when grating Parmesan. Even noisier than normal. Fortunately I had enough cheese to start again.

I'm waiting for my replacement MC and Varoma lid.  They didn't totally break but the plastic on both is splintered like crazy. The faulty plastic is apparently still in circulation in Canada!  My consultant referred me to the head office who said they would send replacements right away.

I've just had to replace the seal on my lid.  I rang HO and it was here in a few days.  Does everyone remove the seal when washing the lid???
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Never, unless there is something which is hard to remove stuck in the seal.

Not always but I never place it in the dishwasher nor lock the lid in place when it's not in use.

I have to lock the lid in place because of the critters but never put it in the DW.

Judy I finished my noodle fritters so posting in new thread in non Thermomix recipes.  Good fun.

I remove the seal if there is gunk in it. I don't have a dishwasher, other than DH so none of my thermomix goes in the dishwasher.
