Hello!
I'm new here, had my TM over a year & really happy with it. But recently all my cake batters that I make in the TM are really dense & have an awful texture. What am I doing wrong?? Am I over mixing? The recipes I've had problems with are adapted, not TM ones but I haven't had this problem before. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue & how did you deal with it? Thanks in advance for any tips you can give!
Maerrie.

Oh no, Why not try making a recipe from on here, just to see how it goes. :)

My favorite off all time, is the " I Love Bimby's " Chocolate cake.

I make it every week without a fail yet, and i have had my thermie for 4 years.

maybe if you post the recipe you are using, we can help, with any tweaks to it.

Also, Hi and welcome to the forum, why not pop over and introduce yourself too. :D :D
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

Hi maerrie! I've moved your posting here so that members can also welcome you to the forum as well as give some advice on cake making. It seems strange that you're only just having problems with your cakes after a year and I wonder if you've changed your brand of flour recently?

Welcome to the forum, I hope we can help solve your problem.

Perhaps you are not cooking it long enough. Do you poke a skewer in the middle? As above I would try a cake that has already been converted to see if it does the same.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I'd do what Obbie suggested and try the ILB chocolate cake...I've never had a fail with that one either.
The only other thing I can suggest other than flour etc is an expensive one.....is your oven on the way out? Perhaps you could invest in an oven thermometer and check it is running at the right temp?

Hello and welcome. It's disappointing when cakes don't work out. Like Robyn said, try the ILB chocolate cake. It's never failed for me either.

Hi and welcome!
I thought the same as Brumington, maybe your oven...
I have issues with my oven so I bought a $6 oven thermometer that just sits on the racks and I can see exactly what the temp is inside the oven (VERY different to what the thermostat tells me  :( ) -it has helped me to no end save my bacon baking. Good luck :)

Welcome to the forum.  I am sorry that you are having trouble with some of your cakes.  Before you start making a favourite recipe I would check out on here and also on the UK site if they have a recipe that is very similar to the one you want to make.  Then I would follow the times ect and see if that makes a difference.  I find that if a recipe needs the butter and sugar creamed then I use the butterfly as that seems to work for me better than just throwing everything in.  Good Luck!!

Hi and welcome.
Have you checked your TM's feet are clean so it is weighing the ingredients properly?

I agree I would be checking the scales for correct weighing.
Every time I use the Thermomix I check the scales by clicking the "weigh" button and then checking the weight of the MC.
Mine is always 30gram And then I am set for the recipe. I recheck if I remove and wash the bowl.
I prevents a lot of failures and is quick and easy.
Good luck and Welcome

I do the same Bootobethin but my MC weighs 25g.  Funny how they are different but that's a well known fact.
