Today we left Florence and stopped in Bologna for a few hours on our way to Venice. A lovely hotel just across the water from StMarks square. Elton John has a house next door. We had dinner in the hotels garden and then took a hotel boat through the grand canal to St Marks square where we had a Bellini while listening to the orchestra playing. In bed now and ready to sleep  :)

Norma, you must be staying on the same tour as we did because we also stayed at Bauer's great hotel isn't it?

In Venice.

The hotel is 2 minutes by water taxi to San Marco Square?

Pre dinner drinks in the hotel courtyard.

Bellinis at San Marco Square of course!

It is a beautiful city CC and very interesting.
We had a lovely small boat take  us through the canals last night to San Marco. It was beautiful in the dark with all the buildings lit up. Drinks in the square while listening to the musicians and then a few minutes over the water back to the hotel.

Going to Burano this afternoon for a late lunch and then we will have a stroll through the backstreets of the city away from the crowds.
We have been very lazy this morning and just back from breakfast.

Haven't seen Elton yet Robyn but will knock on his door later and invite him round for a coffee  ;D ;)  ;D
