Thanks Goldfish & Gert for your advice in shopping thread for setting up DD's fish tank....it's ready to go!



I was concerned the hum & trickle noise might disturb her sleep, but it doesn't  :D
Today I will get the tank thermometer to make sure the heat is right, take a water sample, and hopefully we'll get the fish tomorrow.
Goldfish, You mention getting plant life so the babies could hide....does it just float on top of surface?
We will just start with a couple to see if they survive first  ;)

Just anchor the plants in the gravel. Start with CHEAP fish.

Got the plant & 3 cheapie neons....and they weren't belly up by morning  :D :D

Neons are a great start. Very hardy. Maybe a couple of dwarf gouramis  next. They seem to  coexist nicely and are quite hardy.

Sorry not to get back to you sooner . . this is the kind of weed I meant - I was visiting friends yesterday and they have it in their tank.  I tried to take pix with my phone but they're not too clear but it will give you and idea . . it does float or here it's been anchored to the substrate with a rock.  It grows quickly and you only need a little to start off with . . .  Sending you a PM

This tank is as clear as crystal . . the camera on my iphone has been acting up since Thursday night and this is the quality I'm getting . . . not happy - and not happy with the way the tapatalk is operating either.  Can't seem to adjust the size of photos - and it doesn't show posts that my PC is showing . . . . :-)) ??? >:(

Lovely fish tank Maddy! I bet DD loves it ;D I remember when I got my first pet that was my very own. It was so exciting :D
