My mum felt terrible ripping this out of one of the waiting room books, but it was dated March 2008 so it's about time they replaced this Better Homes & Gardens issue with a more recent issue
Ingredients
:
300g rolled oats
300g dark chocolate
175g unsalted butter, room temperature
95g caster sugar
170g brown sugar
1 egg, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground cinnamon
25g honey
160g plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
185g salted roasted peanuts
Method
:
Preheat oven 180 degrees Celsius.
1. In TM bowl process rolled oats
10 Secs / Speed 7
. Set aside.
2. Roughly chop chocolate
2-3 Secs / Speed 7.
Set aside.
3. Add sugars and butter to bowl.
3 Mins / Speed 3
scraping down sides intermittently.
4. Add egg, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, honey, oat flour, plain flour and baking powder and
Knead setting / 1 Minute.
5. Add the chocolate and peanuts
Knead setting / 1 Minute.
assisting with TM spatula through MC hole until combined. Use your hands at the end to mix through to avoid over mixing.
6. Roll mixture into walnut sized balls, flatten slightly with a fork and bake for 12 - 15 mins until the underside is lightly golden. Cool on tray for 5 mins and transfer to wire rack.

Love the name of these biscuits CP, there are many others out there with similar names including salon biscuits
Love the look of them too and yes I agree, it's about time they replaced their magazines. There are some gems in the old ones though, I have just posted one from a 2007 magazine.

I've made these, I saved the original recipe. They are really delicious. Thanks for the reminder as I will make them again.
Thanks CP's Mum.

I think my DH would love these to take to work. I haven't made anything sweet since Christmas!

Hopefully making these will get you back into the swing of things Julie - what a surprise DH would get when he opened his snack pack to find some home baking again.

Hi JulieO, lovely to see you.
I found where I had copied this recipe CP. it was pre thermomix as I remember having to use my almost dead food processor. This is a photo of how organised I sort of was then. I used to type my favourite recipes out and put into a file. Being retired you think I would have more time now. I just use snaprecipes. I'm in trouble if my iPad dies.
So e of the amounts seem slightly different.

I took a photo of the clipping and just used those amounts. Maybe you thought it needed a bit more butter? Oops just seen a mistake in the plain flour

It is so long ago that I made them I can't really remember. It was pre tmx. I hope to make them tomorrow and will follow your recipe.
