Hi. I have two questions. I had put my meal in the thermoserver in the afternoon and then put it in the fridge. I asked my husband to heat it up when he got home ready for when we got home from swimming. I meant to heat the meal but he had put the thermoserver on the stove top. He couldn't get why I was so mad! So, would it have been okay to have left the hot meal on the bench and not put it in the fridge? It would have been out for 3 hours or so if I had. And secondly, am I right in that it shouldn't go on the stove? Thanks

What happened to it joybell and how long did he heat it up on the stove top?  I don't know that I would leave a meal in the Thermoserver for 3 hours but I can confess that in the early days I also put mine on a very low flame to keep it warm (obviously thinking I was just helping it along to do it's job  )  Suddenly there was a huge cracking sound so I whipped it off the heat and wondered what I had done.  I thought it was going to explode on me    It still works though but I learned my lesson.

I'm sure someone will know if 3 hours is OK or not and when they tell you, we will all know

Hi Joybell.

The Thermoserver can go into the fridge with leftovers but is designed to keep food warm or cold on the bench.  It should definitely not go in microwave, in oven or onto stove.

There is no drama is you want just a bit of the Thermoserver replaced at your own expense.

I got a base (the tray bit) for a customer recently and it was only $7.50.

If you have damaged the insulated bowl, just talk to your consultant because it would be pretty easily replaced, but is not covered by the warranty.

One more Thermoserver tip is to warm the bowl with boiling water before putting the warm food into it.  Won't keep it hot much beyond two hours though.

Thank you. The thermoserver looks fine, maybe a slight discolouration on the bottom. I think he had only just put it onto the hot plate when I got home. But it's good to know if something happens to it I can get in touch with a consultant.

That's what mine ended up with joybell, a slightly stained bottom.  Did DH hear yours make a cracking sound or were you perhaps there before that happened?
