What's on your Christmas 'must make' list?

Hello I'm a bit of a stalker. You ladies have some serious cooking skills

I'm having Christmas at my house this year. I'm not doing any of the major meats or desserts. I was looking for inspiration based on what others are doing. I need to do some salads, sweets, dips, and nibbles

Sweets....... I will make Xmas pud and trimmings and 6 to 8 different ice creams.   You need plenty of freezer space for the ice creams.  These include Licorice, and a couple of other alc. ones as well as non alc for the kids,  crunchy bar, Turkish delight, chocolate and vanilla

Notquite - I can highly recommend jonro's Cookies and Cream fudge and salted caramel fudge and Rara's cherry bites for small desserts with coffee.  They can all be made a week in advance no problem.  I also do Tenina's olive oil lemon tart for those who want a 'lighter' dessert.

As for dips I love hummus and a pesto dip.  Can't help you on the salad though because I'm not much of a salad eater 😨😨😨

I choose things that can be made a couple of days in advance - I've got young boys so don't want to spend most of Christmas Eve and morning cooking.  The only exception is Monkey Bread that we make Xmas eve and bake in the morning for breakfast.

We have a cold Christmas lunch. I have a Terrine from Festive Cooking a few years ago, ham and I do a turkey breast myself as I find the bought ones far too salty. We eat all these cold.
For salads we are very traditional. Potato salad, Layered salad from a Women's Weekly cookbook years ago, a platter with all sorts of stuff on it. This year I will be doing the Brown Rice salad from on here. We have a Beetroot, pea, spinach and bocconicini salad.
For dessert we have a variety of icecreams, possibly some sort of icecream cake, trifle, and fresh fruit salad.
Nibbles are a couple of dips, possibly with home made crackers, cheeses.
I haven't given it much thought yet but we always have very similar. DD sometimes works Christmas morning so with lunch being cold we can wait, and it's ok for anyone that drops in. Some years I make mini plum puddings.
For coffee we have fruit mince pies.

We are very traditional for Christmas so have a hot lunch at Mum's and then leftover for dinner. I cook the turkey but otherwise not a lot else.

Chookie, can you please let me know which puddings you cook? I think it was you that has mentioned in another thread that you make mini ones and vacumm pack them.

no idea this year will be in Bali and DH invited some of your friends for Xmas lunch
3 different religions  i cant cook beef,pork lamb or seafood and DH doesn't like chicken 

i think the best thing to do is go to a restaurant and back to our place for sweets
