Can she just eat what you are having? We did baby led weaning. I think it's a great way for kids to learn about food and not be constricted to certain foods/ consistencies.

I have a 14 month old daughter & I definitely recommend the Toddler & Baby book - today I am going to give the sausage rolls a go
My next step is to work through the baby and kids section on the forum.
Some of the recipes on the forum that have been a winner include Caacciatore Chicken Risotto, Macroni Beef, spinach risotto, easiest ever coconut chicken curry. These are great as you put in (and hide if necessary many veggies).
We also have do pizza, fish, chicken nuggets, quiche well basically anything we have.

Try not to hide (my opinion only) encourage kids to eat veggies. Otherwise you will be forever hiding veg. Best advice I can give is include them in growing, picking produce and cooking. Teach them to love food. If they don't like something don't force. Just try again later without making a fuss. Don't offer alternative meals though. Good luck!

Hi there,
Wow sorry for not replying to my own thread!
Yes I have the book it's great I do cook from there, My little one loves the sausage rolls, the salmon cakes, the sweet potato sheppards pie....
However I guess I was more after something that the whole family can eat (that is 18month old friendly) ....... Since posting this thread I got my butt into gear and have printed a few recipes and started a menu plan for the week!
Thanks for the replies!

I guess you have looked at the baby and kids section on here Dan?
Casseroles, roast dinners, rissottos etc can all be eaten by both adults and kids...

There is so much you can cook. My ds is 9 & is getting used to spices etc, initially I would do his food & then add extra to ours. I started him on very mild currys at 2 & he will eat mild spices now, we just beef it up with fresh chilli & corriander. The chiili & corriander is for us not ds
So dont be too afraid to add a little zing & build from there. He loves anything garlic & has for many years.

Forgot to say - I'm done with making 'special kids food' by their first birthday - they just have whatever we are eating here.
Maybe a bit chopped up or whatever, but with Tm you can even puree a roast!!

Yes, I don't cook especially for DD...I adapt what we are having for her (chop stuff up a bit more etc)...which means that we eat better as a result because I'm conscious of what DD has. I really need to up her spice tolerance though!
