Eating Fruit vs. Drinking Fruit Juice and Type 2 Diabetes
« on: November 06, 2013, 06:15:08 am »
Because I am starting to get into juicing more, I have just read this interesting article on the benefits of eating the whole fruit as opposed to drinking the juice.  I have also been told if you "chew" your juice it is better than simply drinking it.  Not sure why the chewing is better (possibly something to do with the production of saliva and therefore benefits for digestion), but it is always good to be aware of these things.

That is interesting. I have a fruit juice in the morning but otherwise prefer the whole fruit.

always better to have the whole fruit, than juicing, because of the fibre content, and nutrients.

I managed a ice cream / juice bar for 3 years, and we sold lots of juice.....

I find I do tend chew the thick fruit juices made in the Thermomix Marina. I love that nothing is wasted when we juice whole oranges etc, apart from the peel of course  ;D

Try this, Wonder:  https://healthhub.medibankhealth.com.au/bios/2/ and see if that links you through.

Sorry, that is the wrong link, hopefully this one is correct https://healthhub.medibankhealth.com.au/articles/8832/

Thanks Marina but I only seem able to get an excerpt of the article and then that links back to the Medibank home page. I'm a Medibank member so will have a look around the site a little later and see if I can find the entire article.

You are right ladies, I have no idea where the article has gone ... sorry about that.  I tried searching the site as well, but no luck with that either.
