Yes, thanks for popping on spikesmum.  Why not introduce yourself on the home page and tell us how long you've had your Thermomix, what you like cooking etc so that we can all officially welcome you to the forum.

Very happy, sauteed onions & garlic in bowl, 1 tin of tomatoes, 1tbs tomato paste, dried herbs, some water. Put basket in, added mince, cooked varoma, reverse, 15 mins, stirred once, then another 5 mins with mc off.

I had some left over mince to use up, so thought I would give it a try. Not like my normal bol sauce, but a very quick & tasty one :) great for a kids dinner.

Finally got around to trying this method this morning.  Used 2 cups of Tenina's passata from the freezer which I diluted with about 250mls water with 540g pork mince in the steaming basket. Once the TM came up to varoma temperature using speed 3, I cooked it for 20 minutes , stirring the mince occasionally through the lid.  I then added the mince to the sauce with a can of drained, rinsed red kidney beans, 1/2 can corn kernels, 3 tblspns home made taco sauce seasoning and 2 cloves of Tenina's crushed confit of garlic and reheated for 3 minutes on 100o/reverse/speed1.

Voila, Chilli Con Carne.  Making mashed potatoes to go with it now.

Thanks for posting this Denise, it's the best way to cook minced meat in my opinion.

I would like to try this.  Can you please tell me what size your tin of tomatoes was?  Thank you.

I'm pretty sure that would be a 400g tin of tomatoes Elsie.
