Recipe Review Granola Bars ITM2 page 226
« on: November 17, 2013, 10:48:47 am »
Apart from swapping sesame seeds for the poppy seeds I followed this recipe to a T - this is a nut & gluten free recipe.

Very quick & easy to make, it is quite a moist slice so the kids may need a 'wet one' in their lunch box to wipe their hands after eating it.

I've had 3 slices so far, you know what it's like, you keep going back to remind yourself how good it tasted  ;D.

This looks to be my type of slice. It looks very nice.

Yes, it's chewy and I've just discovered it's best kept in the fridge.

Made this yesterday.   Very easy.  After reading Judy's review,  I baked it for an extra 8 minutes.  Has set up well,  not sticky and I keep it out of fridge.  It is a bit too sweet for me so next time I would use 1/2 the sugar and 1/2 the golden syrup. This will change the ratio of wet to dry,  so may add a little water.  .

I have this in the oven at the moment. I didn't have enough chia seeds so chucked a bit of crio in.  :D there is nothing like mucking around with the recipe.  I used dark muscovodi sugar in it. I have a feeling it may be a bit too sweet for us. We will see.

Can't believe I Haven't written a review of this one yet - it's on regular rotation in our house.

I rarely have the chia or sesame seeds in the pantry so just add a few more oats to make up for it.  We call it ANZAC slice and find it is the perfect sweetness for us.  I also interchange honey and golden syrup depending on what we have in the pantry.  You know it's a keeper when you can chop and change to suit what you have on hand!

Kids love this one in their lunchboxes and as an after school snack 😛
