Donut-maker batter recipe
« on: December 19, 2013, 07:03:15 am »
Hi everyone,
DS (4 year old) has just been given an electric donut maker for Christmas.  Has anyone used one of these before?  Can you recommend a good recipe for the batter / mixture?
Thanks!

Oh, and if you have a cupcake pen they make putting the batter in much easier :)

I have also used a couple that I found via Mr Google

Doughnut recipe (makes a LOT but I really like it, and the kids happily eat for at least a few days in their lunch)

1 tbsp cider vinegar
1 cup milk
3.5 cups plain flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
0.5 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
0.5 tsp vanilla

or

CHOCOLATE DONUTS (for donut machine) - I have edited this to grams for TMX
150g sugar
40g cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
220g flour
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
100g oil
1/2 tsp. salt
120g boiling water
120g sour milk (to sour, add 1/2 tsp. vinegar or lemon juice)

For either it's just whizz it all together and pour into the donut machine

Yes you do. And you will wonder how you ever managed without it.  They are great for pikelets too.
