It it what it is, a basic tomato base. Nice teaspoon taste before bottling. These 2 bottles are probs 750ml and 500 size, plus I had a teensy bit left over to spread on one pizza. Who would buy a jar from the shop when this is so easy.

I made this today with tomatoes and basil from my garden. I froze half of the sauce and served the other half for dinner with meatballs and spaghetti. It was delicious.

I've just made this to get rid of a bowlful of overripe tomatoes and also to do something with my basil bush which is providing me with plenty of leaves as well. I didn't have any celery, had used all my frozen pieces up so I threw in a chunk of Uni's
Sofrito
instead. I'm going to freeze mine. It is delicious.

Frozen celery is great in soups or casseroles BurgerB, it also doesn't seem to take as long to cook once frozen I find. I had thrown out so much limp celery I thought I'd try freezing it and I find it a very useful ingredient to have on hand. I also wrap fresh celery in alfoil to extend it's fridge life too.

Yes I did make this yesterday and followed the recipe except for halving both sugar and salt content. Having a taste test at the end proved that it was a good move as it was sweet/salty enough for us.
Used some in a meal last night and have frozen the rest.
Very easy to do, will make again.

Made this a couple of weeks ago, and like JulieO I halved the sugar and salt. Used a bottle of it tonight on spaghetti and meatballs. Absolutely delicious. This will be made over and over again.
5/5 Thanks for a wonderful recipe Tenina
