Is it possible to marry my Thermomix???
« on: March 07, 2014, 09:43:29 am »
Thought I would introduce myself - I'm Allison, and I'm aware that it's probably not legal to marry my Thermomix, but after a week of cohabitation, I think we're a match made in heaven. Poor DH thinks he has been made redundant :-) I've had my Thermomix for 5 days and I've used it at least once every day since then. I'm finding it so helpful to make basics that I otherwise have to go to the shops for - almond meal and milk, butter, muesli (how freaking awesome is cada?!), stock... I can't believe I lived for this long without a Thermomix!

We eat mostly Paleo (plus full fat dairy) in our house so I've already been reading up on the Paleo recipe thread - there are some gems in there!

Anyway, I've been reading up on the various recipes and tips on the site, and I'm excited to eventually contribute some of my own recipes and experiences. Looking forward to getting to know some fellow devotees!

Welcome to the forum Allison. Poor DH. Perhaps you can let him do some of the cooking.  ;D
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Thanks for the welcome! DH grew up in Germany and always bangs on about how they are amazing engineers... And he's suitably impressed thus far. I really should let him have a go!

Thanks Astarra - very glad the two can coexist. I sensed a bit of rivalry as I was prepping for dinner :-)

Any hope for the three-year-old not being terrified of it? Between the jealousy (DH) and the screams of terror (DD) it's set the cat amongst the pigeons a bit.

Glad to hear it kmw - when it's stirring or beating she isn't concerned but it's the noisy chopping that DD freaks out over.  I will give it a bit more time for DD to get used to our noisy new friend.

Hi Alison, welcome to the forum. Glad to hear you are in love with your TMX and I do hope your DD will soon get used to the noise.  My DH hated it to start with but as long as I warned him when it was going to be very loud, he learnt to live with it.

hi and welcome Alison. you will soon get so used to  your thermy.
Use it every day, and leave it out on the bench.

maybe your DH will use it too.  I have 2 and use thermy machines, and use both daily. ;D
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

Hi and welcome to the forum Alison. :)

My DH wasn't a fan of the noise at first but he soon got used to it and doesn't worry about it now.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.
