Thank you for the warm welcome!!!
I first heard about Thermomix a few years ago - OK more than a few... Maybe 20 years ago, but I was a poor student back then and couldn't afford one. Even though it would have been handy in my tiny 18 sqm student apartment with one cooking plate and no oven. So I got a crock pot instead.
Then I somehow forgot about the Thermomix, until a few weeks ago, when I saw a glimpse of one (I think) on Masterchef Australia (yes, it is on TV here in Finland!). So went on line to google for "all in one, self stirring cooking thing" until I found the name and read up on things.
Then finding a seller over here was the next hurdle - fortunately I found a blog by a Finnish expat living in Germany, who is a rep, and sold one to me!
I am a 'gadgetgirl' who prefers tinkering with gadgets instead of doing the chore. That's why I have a Roomba and a Scooba for house cleaning - doesn't save much time, but I can pick up the stuff, switch on the vacuum and go do something else. And then clean out and tinker with the vacuum while watching TV. Makes vacuuming fun instead of a chore! And that what I am thinking Themomix will do as well. I dislike standing by the stove, or washing out lots of pots and pans.
What else about me.... I work outside the home, my work takes me on business trips fairly often. I have a hubby and one kid, an almost ten-year-old son. Whom are getting tired of macaroni and fried mince. So I guess I need to get back to cooking and freezing food for them when I'm out and about... Or maybe the son can learn to make a few simple things in the Thermomix.
