LAMummy, I just google any of these if I don't already know what they mean.  Must admit, sometimes I do get a bit of a shock at what I find there  :o :o

I used to text a female friend and would put LOL on it, she one day turned around and asked why I would send lots of love  ;D :D :o. She was definitely embarrassed when I explained its actual meaning I was ROTFLMAO with her response

My son, who plays online games regularly, actually walks around the house saying LOL, ROFL and a few others. Seems like internet/SMS shortcuts will be the new English soon.

It's not strange at all depending on the persons personality, coming from me it would come across a strange. I am not 1 to openly show my affection unless it is for my hubby, kids and my animals.

I don't openly talk in abbreviation, only when typing. I wish DH would use acronyms his spelling so atrocious lol, its a talent just to decipher his writing, and no he isn't a Dr lol

Don't you mean the SWMBO? LOL- She Who Must Be Obeyed ? :D

Great list of abbreviations - I must admit I was having trouble with EDC and EEVO (which I thought was an oil brand  :-[)

Hi. Can we please add the following to the official list of Acronyms / Abbreviations? I would not like people to get the wrong impression:

FUIC = Farmers Union Iced Coffee.

It's an Aussie male thing available every where in Oz. Think it may also be sold in NZ as well.
