Review. KIS Mexican Chocolate Tablet
« on: May 22, 2014, 06:19:02 am »
I tasted this at Tenina's KIS class and liked it very much. I needed a little something to take out to dinner with us on Saturday so thought I would give it a go. I think I may need to make another batch by then as we will eat all this. It is no way near as sweet as normal chocolate and is not smooth. However Tenina says if you want it smooth you can mill the sugar first and omit the almonds. I would possibly mill the sugar a bit next time but definitely leave in the nuts. It is very moreish. I did some as 'bark' as I didn't have enough moulds that were small enough.
A very definite 5/5 from me. I can't wait to make it again and try putting something's into it.

She made this in her mexican classes too. The recipe is also in the book she distrbuted at the class. I really liked it and have avoided making it becuase I know I would just keep eating it until it was gone.  ;D

I have some in the fridge and some I spread out as 'bark'. The bark is almost gone. It is lethal. ;D

I think this is the one Tenina made at the class I went to.  I liked the flavour but did not enjoy the texture, so thanks for the tips Cookie.  I also bought the moulds to make this in.  Being in Kitchen Warehouse for those classes is a killer for the wallet!  I do love Tenina's classes though.

Me too. I believe she is thinking of doing some with a Comfort Food theme. They sound as though they will be good.
