??? Ok. I hate to sound stupid, but could somebody please detail the eggshell thing? I mean how many eggshells, how much water, what speed?

Does this help clean the bottom plate?

It's not in the books I got...

Thanks!

You can use one or two or more egg shells.

Use enough water to cover the blades.  Depends on what you've been cooking and how long it's sat there as to whether you need warm or cold water.

Then speed 8 for 20 seconds. You can also pop it into reverse and pulse the turbo button once or twice.

Then empty and rinse on turbo again once or twice.

I am with you Karen, only time my TMX sees egg shells now is for the worms with the scraps!! I just use a teat brush from a baby's bottle brush set, works a treat  :)

Works for me - but it can get messy.  Hit the turbo button to flick off the bits.

I am a hairdresser by trade and have found that the tinting brushes are fantastic for getting in under the blades and all around the finicky stuff. Hope this helps.  ;)

I bought some plastic flossing toothpicks to help with the cleaning. I use the string and the pointed tip to clean under the blade, and it works well. It is a bit fiddly though.

I get these little thingy's from my dentist when I visit & have found they are quite good at getting the hard to reach area under the blades.

Ermm.. I find the quickest way to completely clean is to take apart and hold the blade upside down in the palm of my hand and then use a baby's bottle brush to push in and around the underside of the blades, dunking in and out of the water.  It quickly brushes away any bits that are caught there. Followed up by a quick rinse and dry and then reassemble.  Really only takes a minute and I know it's all really clean.

If there's been any cooked on food at the bottom of the bowl, I soak the bowl in water for a min then I use one of those miniature soap pads that comes in a box of 10 or so. I use the home brand ones, the smaller size is great for this job.  They work every time and leaves it all nice and shiny without scratching.  :)

I do take mine apart but until I can get a baby's bottle brush this is what I have on hand to use until then.

Thermie007's Picksters can be bought in Big W for about $6. I use them for my teeth. They come in varying sizes.

Julie I am with you. Pull it apart, put it under running water and use an Ikea brush. We all have our ways, as long as they are successful for us.
