All languages would be catered for so if you buy from overseas you will have to buy a chip in your own language and dollars to donuts they will not come cheap.

Those chips will be a while before anyone can buy them. I remember how long it took for the EDC to be able to be bought from TM.

Ellie,  I think some of the issues you saw with the 5 were probably due to the person demonstrating it.  Probably not familiar with the process.   I found that the more we used the 5 last Sunday,  the quicker we got.

While people are up in arms about TMX 5, I think that with technology increasing at the rate it is, we won't have to wait another 10 years for a TMX 6.

Ive just been told a lady went to a demo today to see the new machine in action and it froze halfway through. Had to switch it off and start again. :(

At least it seemed easily fixed. I have no fears as it is under warranty for 2 years and will get a good workout in that time.

Me neither. In some respects it maybe just a 'glitch' and I'm willing to just forge ahead. We can all just speculate and be so woe begone but I'm just happy to jump in and see what it's like. Happy to post up negatives and positives as I'm not a consultant at this point.

CP I can't see you spending your time and money to become a consultant  being at the beck and call of Thermomix not being paid for the hours you have to put in with endless training, voulenteering, fronting up for this and that and giving demos to Bellini/ /Mistral/other thermothingy owners who just want to see how their machines work. These people have the demos just to figure it out leaving you out of pocket and wasting your time. They may be potential Thermomix owners in the future but don't count on themy buying it from you. You would be surprises at how many think that is ok. They even laugh about the advisors they take advantage of.

I will be interested to see how the Americans take to it when it is introduced once again in the US. No doubt that will coincide with the new model going into Canada. This forum will be overloaded with US members for sure. It is going to get interesting.

I just asked local Canadian official distributor about any news on TM5. Or any big discounts on the TM31. They replied, but with no news on either. Just that there are monthly special extras.

I find most electronic devices have glitches every now and again that don't affect the overall efficiency. I'm sure if everyone thought hard about their TM31's there would be a lot of stories out there of error messages appearing and then going once the machine was turned off and similar glitches. I'm not going to worry about any of the stories and will just take it as it comes. You can even buy a brand new car and get a lemon so I'm sure there will be machines out there that malfunction in small and big ways but I don't think it will be an overall indication of the quality. I just hope mine is a perfect one.

Yes, I hope mine is too.
When the consultant came over to show me TM5, I asked if they still make something on delivery she said yes just in case you get a "dead" one.  She said very occasionally this happens.  She was talking about the 31.  Please don't let it be mine.
