It's a bit oily. Possibly ok in the SC.

There's a butcher in Fremantle who has game, and one in Hamilton Hill

They have both in Coles here in Far North Queensland . Can you believe that?
A spatchcock is just a a very small chicken. A quail is a game bird and not a tiny chicken
Really a spatchcock can feed 2. They can weight around 500 gm and up.
Restaurants often say spatchcock because quail is not acceptable but they are very different birds.
So CP you joining the challenge?
My DH's has joined the spirit of the challenge and has been in the garage making me a something!! All will be revealed on Sat ? Or Sunday.? GF

After a very intense debate with myself I feel we should include all those who are opposed to the eating of Quails but who have no objection to eating small chickens should be included in the challenge.
I am of the mind that the challenge should start from 0000 on Sat 21 to 2399 Sun 22 . This will allow for some to creat a meal which may include breakfast , brunch , lunch , afternoon tea and dinner.
Any thoughts?

It's good to see someone trying to get forum members motivated again Gert, is that what drove you to this challenge?

We shall see Judy. We shall see.
This is a very serious challenge. People around the world will take notice of our efforts to create the perfect quail/spatchcock meal .
No herb or spice will be left out .
Blood will be spilt.
Bones will be broken.
Who will judge this challenge?

It looks as if I will be watching from the side line.
I've just asked DH if he would eat a quail if I cooked it. The answer was a definate no, he thinks they are such cute little things so why would you want to eat one.
My first challenge would be to find one let alone cook it.

Count me in! DH has just been to the central market and bought me a pack of quail.
It's been years since I've cooked them - I need to consult my recipe books
I'm thinking Asian flavours.......

I'll go spatchcock. One query - is it cooked in the TM or any other method?

I think we would limit ourselves if we restricted it to the Thermomix but maybe one element of the recipe should be in the Themomix. What do you think?
