Lime Chutney Page 134 Indian Book
« on: July 21, 2014, 09:47:04 am »
Has anyone else made this chutney. I have just finished making it and the mixture is very runny and tastes very sharp (unlike the other lime recipe I usually make). I have rechecked all the ingredients to make sure I didn't make an error but am quite disappointed in the finished result. I hope it will mellow down and thicken up with age. I have just boiled it down a bit in a saucepan to reduce some of the liquid. Will use my usual recipe in future as that always turns out well.

Thanks for the review troupie.  Someone may have made it but as you know, there's no review on the forum to date.

How disappointing for you troupie.

Troupie, just checking my book as I thought I had made this, and... nope I haven't sorry. :(

The recipe does say it is best after a year, so maybe hide it in the back of the cupboard and forget about it for a while.

Thanks girls; I have labelled the jars and will do just that or maybe at Christmas time when I want some chutney on my ham but for now I will stick with my tried recipe. I might get a surprise in 6 months time.
