My Swiss Style Bircher Muesli
« on: July 23, 2014, 09:31:29 am »
serves 2:
100 g muesli mix (I mix a batch and keep it in an airtight jar: 3/4 part rolled oats, 1/4 all together: millet flakes, linseed, whole almonds, sunflower seeds, raisins, chia seeds, suiting your taste...),
a bit of water to soak,
125 g plain yoghurt (I don't like the fat free type)
(a splash of artificial sweetener or some agave sirup, optional but I need it for my sweet tooth)
(1 tbsp. linseed oil, also optional - but it has got all the fatty acids that are good for you, especially when you are over 50)
just leave it for ten minutes or so and prepare the fruit:
1 apple, quartered and cored, skin on and 1 banana, quartered - as basic ingredients,
add what else fruit is in season:  a nectarine, an apricot, a handful of berries...
mix it on 5 for 3 seconds and you are done!
(note: if you use berries only add them before spooning your muesli into a bowl)
Enjoy! This is a very healthy start to your day!

An enormous thank you for this recipe Sobriquea. I can't wait to try it.

Hi Sobriquea, thanks for posting this recipe.  Can I ask a couple of questions about it please?

Where you say "a bit of water to soak" , do you mean you soak the muesli mix in water (in the TM bowl) for 10 mins and if so roughly how much water please?
Also, do you then add the rest of ingredients to it (except berries) and mix it on Reverse + speed 5 for 3 secs?

Just want to be clear.  :D
