Hello from North Queensland
« on: August 16, 2009, 03:43:14 am »
Hi all,

I hail from Sunny Townsville and I am anxiously awaiting my new Thermomix, ordered on 5th August which will hopefully be delivered early next week.

I have been lurking here for a little while (actually quite a while ;) ), reasearching my potential purchase.  I work full time and am the only cook for my family of four (hence the reason why I am very excitedly awaiting my new toy).

I am also currently on the elimination diet (ie. failsafe) to identify food intolerances so it's great to see other failsafers on this forum.

Welcome to the forum MG - plenty of others with intolerances on this forum as you've probably already noticed.  Have fun when you get your TMX

Welcome to the Forum MG. Hope you have your Thermomix by now and can join in the fun we all have. My daughter just bought her thermomix on Sat and is ecstatic. She recently had part of her bowel removed due to Crohns disease and is in the process of eliminating foods from her diet as well so she can avoid the dreaded long term drugs. You will get lots of info and help here. Great to have Townsville join us and as I live in Cairns we are nearly neighbours!

Wooo Hooo - It arrived today !!!!

I sit here typing this to the wafting aroma of pumpkin soup cooking  ;D

Oh no, it's done & I'm not ready !

****slight pause while we eat our pumpkin soup****

I think that is the first time in over a year that my family has eaten dinner by 7pm that isn't takeaway  ;D

Now what's for dessert  ???

OK, so I don't keep you all in suspense, Dessert was Pineapple Sorbet.

I'm not always such a boring person, but I wanted to be sure that what I made tonight worked so that I wouldn't be ridiculed out of my family  ;)

It almost feels wrong saying that I cooked dinner because it really feels like I didn't.  I feel Liberated.  I feel free.  I feel....

***wait... remembers the several loads of folding to be done, the vacuuming, the ... well you get the picture***

I love how enthusiastic & welcoming everyone is on this forum.

Karen (aka Brazen) I love your blog.  I have (extended) family members who are celiac & others who are gluten intolerant & I don't like trying Gluten Free recipes unless I have some idea of how they are going to turn out.  I have had a lot of Gluten Free flops lately  :-\

Welcome MG!

Enjoy your new magical machine... I sure do! :)

My old stomping ground Townsville.. back in the day it was more exciting than Cairns.. and worth the 3.5hr drive for a night before heading home again... ;)
